The Loo with a View 

Before the remodel, this Maple Grove primary bathroom was spacious but poorly laid out, with an outdated design that didn’t meet the homeowners’ needs. The room was broken up by awkward partitions and underutilized areas. A tiny, enclosed shower was tucked in the corner, feeling more like a phone booth than a relaxing retreat. The large corner tub, surrounded by dated white tile and oak cabinetry, dominated the space but was rarely used. The vanity stretched along one wall with a single sink, offering plenty of surface area but little functionality for two users. Popcorn ceilings, worn finishes, and mismatched fixtures added to the dated feel, while small maintenance issues, like broken cabinet doors, damaged ceiling texture, and a broken tub panel, gave the space a tired appearance.

The remodel completely reimagined the layout, eliminating the oversized tub and cramped water closet to create a spacious walk-in shower, double-sink vanity, and larger walk-in closet. New spray foam insulation in the walls and in-floor heat keep the space warm and cozy while improving the home’s energy efficiency. The generous new shower features grab bars, a built-in bench, a wall-to-wall shampoo ledge, and a hand shower for comfort and convenience. A striking blue picket tile on the shower’s head wall adds a pop of color that catches the eye the moment you enter the room.
