Wine Closet

A small under-used closet is transformed into a quaint Wine Room.

The 4-ft. x 6-ft. closet adjacent to an existing bar in this lower level Family Room was only being used to store extra cases of soda and wine. The homeowner’s wanted to create better storage for their abundant wine collection and have it tie into the existing finishes of the Family Room bar and fireplace. The existing Family Room woodwork was maple, paired with a slate stone fireplace and dark, granite bar top.

The new wine room incorporates the same maple cabinetry with a natural stone backsplash that coordinates perfectly with the existing finishes. The newly designed room has storage space for over 75 bottles of wine, racks for wine glasses and base cabinets to store away cases of soda and water. The homeowner’s loved the room so much that they took off the door to this once under used closet to show off the new addition to their lower level bar.
